BingoLotto on Virgin 1

November 04, 2009

BingoLotto is a new weekly live TV game broadcast for the first time on Virgin 1 on Sunday 13th September 2009 between 7 and 8pm. In order to play you must purchase game cards for £2 each from any UK Tesco supermarket.

The cards consist of three BingoLotto games broadcast during the hour. These are red, yellow and blue cards. Each card has a unique serial number and there are at least 10 opportunities to win. If you complete a line you win the prize shown to the left of the line on the card. If you get a full house you get an extra chance to win more prizes by calling up the studio.

The show, host by UK celebrity Ulrika Jonsson, will feature a number of bingo games played in real-time by TV viewers. Prizes on offer include cars, holidays, TV’s and cash. There is also a ‘fortune seeker’ game, the winner of which will join Ms Jonsson on the following weeks show for an opportunity to play for the £100,000 jackpot.

For every game card sold, 20% of the cost will be donated to a range of UK based sports organizations and community charities. These donations will be undertaken via The Central Council of Physical Recreation and the National Council for Voluntary Organizations.

The BingoLotto game originated in Sweden in the 1990’s as a game show. At its peak over 3 million game cards were sold weekly and gained almost £1 billion in charitable donations.
